I offer my services from source languages: German, Italian, French into both UK and US English.

Design produces documentation. I translate all types of technical documentation, created throughout all phases of a project; from earliest inception, right through to your marketing material and website copy.

Technology industries require accurate and faithful, yet highly accessible and clear translations of original documentation. This requires the translator to not only possess a significant level of fluency in the source language, but also a sound knowledge of the technical domain, and the ability to translate not just literally, but to convey all key elements of the source in a natural, familiar, and accessible target translation.

My fees are calculated per source word. On receipt of your documentation, I will be delighted to provide you with a quotation.

Quality Assessment

Do you have existing translated copy you would like full confidence in publishing? Or are you hiring a translation provider, and want to be sure you’ve found the right fit for you?

A significant part of my work involves carrying out reviews of technical translations, on behalf of agencies and private clients. These businesses need to ensure that the translators they use have adequate language skills, and knowledge of often highly technical and specialist domains.

My reviews can be detailed, focussed, or high-level, depending on your requirements. You will receive a fair and considered assessment, and I will highlight any areas for improvement.

Reviews are charged by the hour, and I can provide a quotation once we have established review scope, aim, and size (number of words).

I work with Windows 10 and Office 365.

My preferred CAT tool is SDL Trados Studio. I also work with MemoQ and Across.

If you prefer to work with another or a proprietary application, I will be happy to do so.

I keep all software installations up-to-date in their latest available versions, supported by maintenance contracts.
